Buechel’s Full Color Castle Rock natural stone, installed as a full-thickness wall system with stone approximately 3–5 inches thick, gives the exterior its depth, texture and architectural presence. Vermont slate and copper roof details complete the composition.
Inside, Calacatta Gold marble, the sculptural maple staircase, custom wrought iron, mahogany doors and carved marble fireplaces give each space a distinct material character.

The library floor
An aperture in wood
The library’s floor takes its cue from the mechanical iris of a camera shutter. Angled bands of wood turn around a finely patterned center, their contrasting tones recalling the overlap of shutter blades. Daylight catches the grain and brings the geometry into relief—a composition underfoot that extends beyond the usual scope of architectural detail.
